The Audiovox 8900 is a great handheld phone. I really like the screen it is great! The camera is OK, it could use some work, but it is a Audiovox, what did you expect? The menu options are great, really easy to use. The Alerts are not very good, if you have them set to on, they will alert of you things even if it is not happening. For around $300.00CAD, I would go for a little more expensive camera phone, it would be worth the extra money.

I cant say that i am an authority on cell phones, as this is only my second one, but i am definatly impressed with the 8900. LOTS of options and the display is great. and i agree, the menu layout is very nice. the only problem i have found with the menu is that the setup for voice dialing is in another menu option than the phone book, which makes it a little more of a hastle to set up... but i must say, for a free phone i cant complain.

Audiovox 8900 Camera Phone

I just picked this phone up a few days ago, so far it's been great. Good reception, clear sound.
-Camera is a nice perk but the quality is not like a digital camera.
-Don't get this phone if you are getting it just for the camera and plan to take important pictures, the quality will disappoint you.
-The camera is a fun thing to have on it
-The ringers are fine most people below said not enough ringers, how many do you need?? You can always download anyway.
-The speaker phone is a nice touch, great to listen to your messages.
-The features are fantastic, voice memo, voice dial, stop watch, etc..

So far I have had a good experience with this phone, I recommend it!

The display is not good. I've owned other 65k phones and they make this one look like a 4000 K phone. It has a lot to do with how the screen is lit. With a large 65k screen, you expect some great images. You don't get them on this phone. I'm taking it back and getting an LG 5450. It's fat, but the display is a killer.
