The Good, The Bad & the Ugly

After 3 months with this phone, overall I'm very pleased.
This is not the latest Atrix but an entry level Android phone. The biggest drawback is the Android 2.1 which rules out many of the latest apps so browsing through the Android Market can leave you frustrated. Flash will work with Skyfire depending on how the website is set up but most websites won't work telling you to download the latest Flash. My attempt to load the latest Flash on the SD card failed. The hope for this phone is Motorola will offer an upgrade to 2.2 or 2.3 but this may be a marketing strategy on their part or it may just be the chip/memory combination won't handle it.
The slide-out keyboard is perfect. In a darkened room, this is a Blackberry Torch running Android at 1/3 the price. The touch screen has very good sensitivity compared to some others. Camera, video, music with a standard jack all work fine with up to 32gig SD card. GPS, bluetooth and WiFi work fine once configured correctly.
My hope is Motorola will keep this design and upgrade the horsepower (side sliders are annoying to use). The phone does occasionally freeze when pushed but usually finds it way back. I haven't had the battery out yet.
Overall, this is a great phone for the price. A bit heavy but the build quality is excellent. It just seems a bit underpowered so if patience is not your virtue & Flash is important, buy the Atrix.
