So, I've had 3 phones in the past year. First was a Nokia phone; 2 megapixel camera, mp3 player. Other than being extremly SLOW that's all it had to offer. So I got a free one because it broke so many times and it was on warranty. A Samsung phone, U540, I think; 1.3 megapixel camera, music player, awesome speakers, ultra slim, but that made it's lenght and width very big. Fortunatly I lost it, and I got the SamsungU410.
I actually got it because they were giving me a discount on it for losing my other phone. I did my research on this phone. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRY. It looked really chunky and it looked like it had such a weird metalic feel that could get easily chipped and leave marks.
I thought wrong. A few days later it came in the mail. When I first opened it, it was beautiful. It was a little chunky, but I liked how it wasn't all spread out, it was more like narrow.
Key Pad: Very good to txt with, I found I was txting faster. The other samsung's keypad was a bit stronger and bigger but that was only the numbers. The navigation keypads on this one were so much more easier to use, I found on my other samsung I would ALWAYS press two buttons, and I found it rather annoying. 7.5/10
Screen: Hmm, I like it, it's not too big but its not too small, just the right size. Everything looks pretty clear, but the pictures taken on the camera(I'll talk about that next)It's external brightness was okay... if I wanted to tell the time without opening my phone in the sunlight it'd be rather hard. 8/10 internal, 5/10 external.
Sound: Okay, pretty good for calling. The speakers actually, SUCK. Theyre at the bottom where if youre holding it your hand covers it so its hard to hear if you have a call, especailly if its lying down flat on its back. 4/10 .. could be alot better(on the front)
Camera/Multimedia: Not much to offer with this phone, download ringtones, wallpapers ect, webbrowsing, 0.3 VGA camera, games, bluetooth, notes, calander, alarm, basic tools. Nothing fancy, no music player, no video camera, just an average phone... The camera quality is okay, if you use a Fun Frame its horrible, its all blurry and grainy and blouchy. 7/10 overall multimedia
Overall: I have to admit I really like this phone, all I need it for is txting and calling and the ocassional picture. WIth experience with my other phones it's WAAAY too much to be paying for something thats gonna spend most of its time in your pocket. It's actually pretty light, and you'll barely notice it. It's sturdy, whats the point of getting a high-tech phone? With my Nokia breaking it showed me that you're paying a lot for something to get broken, and with my Samsung youre paying a lot to get something that could be stolen or lost. So just get yourself a basic phone that you need no worries about, and ask yourself: Do you really need a phone to do ALL that?
