Travelling Outside of Canada
You can use your NorthernTel HSPA+ mobile phone or smartphone for roaming outside of Canada in over 200 countries for voice and for data.Note on prepaid mobile phones: HSPA+ prepaid mobile phones cannot be used outside of Canada. However, your prepaid CDMA compatible mobile phone can be used in the United States. Click here for more details.
IMPORTANT: For reasons outside of NorthernTel’s control, and for a limited time, the prepaid roaming feature cannot be added to your service. If you have already subscribed to this feature, your service will not be affected. Please note, however, that you will not be able to call the following countries from the United States: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Latvia, Moldavia, Bulgaria and Maldives.
What should you do before leaving?
We recommend that you take the time prior to travel to verify if your HSPA+ mobile phone or smartphone can be used at your desired destination and, most of all, the roaming rates in effect .
