TELUS announced announcing Tuesday that it has acquired Black's Photo Corp. for approximately $28 million. The move automatically adds 70 Ontario store locations to help TELUS increase it's presence in Eastern Canada.
Black's owns and operates more than 110 store locations throughout Canada.
Bell made a similar purchase earlier in the year by acquiring the Source with it's 750 locations across Canada. The Source will begin selling Bell cell phones and smartphones in January when their Rogers contract expires.
The Vancouver Sun has a great article up breaking down the reasons behind the acquisition that can be found here: www.vancouversun.com/business/Telus+tackles+photography+buying+Blacks+million/1972641/story.html
