More than 3,200 Walmart stores in the U.S. will sell the Straight Talk prepaid service starting Oct. 18, the company said yesterday in a statement.
Walmart will offer two no-contract wireless prepaid plans for $30 or $45 per 30 days. The $30 plan will offer 1,000 minutes and 1,000 messages (text or multi-media), and for an extra $15 you can go unlimited (nationwide). Both plans include 30 MB of data (for data enabled phones), and calls to 411 are at no additional charge.
Three phones will be available for the launch - the Motorola MOTORAZR V3a (US$99.98), Motorola MOTO W385 (US$79.98) and LG 200CM (US$29.98).
From the Walmart website - 'Straight Talk is everything you need in a cell phone without a contract. Nationwide service on the most reliable network. No activation, reactivation, cancellation, daily access or overage fees.'
