iPhone 4 Rumours Begin to Build

January 14, 2010
Rumours regarding Apple's next iteration of their widely successful iPhone are slowly building.  With an Apple Event set for January 26th there is a real possibility that the iPhone 4 could be announced.  Right analysts are expecting a Apple Table to be announced with the iPhone 4 being a real possibility.  We've got a breakdown of possible iPhone 4 features below:

June Release

A June release would follow the Apple's iPhone release trend of:

  • Original: June 29, 2007
  • 3G: July 11, 2008
  • 3GS: June 19, 2009

Touch-Sensitive Case

Apple's Magic Mouse features a large number of touch-sensitive features. It's thought that a touch-sensitive iPhone casing may be in the works.  This could conceivably allow people to control iPhone functions via the back side of the phone.  Perhaps allowing users to scroll through emails and contacts.

5 Megapixel Camera

The next iPhone should come with a higher quality camera then the existing 3 megapixel version on the 3GS.  The twist may be the addition of a forward facing camera for video conferencing.

Software Innovations

It would be expected that the next version of the iPhone OS will contain a number of software innovations.  Could we see the ability to run multiple apps at the same time?

We'll continue to track the rumours and have more information leading up to January 26th Apple Event.
