I have had many phones since the 90's from Motorola to this Kyocera. The phone claims to be a rugged and water proof .(to a certain depth and a specific time). If u drop it from waist high it should be OK. Well the phone fell off the coffee table and the plastic around the top and the speaker cracked and flaked off. That was in the first 6 months. The operating system seems slow. The touch screen is slow to respond if it will respond at all after the last software update. The camera is horrid. Last week it slid off the side of my tool box and the backing fell off. It snapped back on but doesn't seem to fit properly any longer. The fall was from about 3 feet. For ruggedness it is leaps and bounds above the I phone or the Samsung but it definitely isn't the best rugged phone on the market. That honor belonged to the Casio GZ phones. This phone isn't worth buying. Get a Samsung and a otter box. That's better than wasting your money on this phone. It does not stand up to what they are trying to sell it as.
When time for upgrade comes around I hope someone will have really come up with a phone that can actually handle a ruff life style.

This phone is a grade A first class P.O.S. It does not come with a voicemail app, so you have to call some idiots out in the soon to be free country of mexifornia to get your voicemail, which you are not able to do. Avoid this piece of garbage, I am sending mine back.
Kyocera Duraforce pro not as durable as they claim

I dropped my Kyocera Duraforce pro from a height of 4 feet and the screen shattered. Kyocera charged me $200 to fix it. They state dropping the phone voids the warranty.
