Haiti Earthquake Relief Funds see Large Number of Donations by Text

This weeks devastating Haiti earthquake has seen a large number of donations being sent to organizations like the Red Cross via Text Message.  You can help donate in the following ways:

Red Cross

The Red Cross received $1.4 million on Wednesday via their very successful and viral text messaging campaign.  About 140,000 people donated $10 via text message by sending "Haiti" to the number 90999.  They are then billed through their phone company.

Rogers & Fido

For Rogers and Fido customers, you can send the text message "HELP" to the shortcode 1291 and will see $5 donated to Partners in Health: Haiti and other Haitian relief organizations.


Bell

Bell customers can send $5 per text to the Salvation Army’s fundraising campaign for the earthquake-devastated country by texting the word "HAITI" to 45678 on any Bell cell phone.
