Rogers extends HSPA+ coverage to 21 more cities

Rogers today announced it has expanded its HSPA+ network to an additional 21 Canadian markets. Now major cities in provinces that previously had no coverage will be able to enjoy the faster speeds that have up until now only been available in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal.

Rogers states that these new markets will be able to experience download speeds of up to 21 Megabits per second (Mbps).

The 21 cities now covered include:

  • British Columbia: Victoria & Kelowna
  • Alberta: Edmonton
  • Saskatchewan: Regina & Saskatoon
  • Manitoba: Winnipeg
  • Ontario: Kitchener, Ontario Cottage Country, Hamilton, Windsor, St. Catherines, London, Barrie, Kingston & Sudbury
  • Quebec: Quebec City, Trois-Rivieres & Sherbrooke
  • Atlantic: Halifax, Moncton & St. John's

If you’re looking to hook-up on the new network, Rogers is offering the HSPA+ Rocket™ Mobile Internet Stick for $0 on activations on a 2 or 3 year term data plan with a minimum monthly service fee of $30 ($129.99 with a 1 year term, or $174.99 monthly).
