Mobilicity confirmed its release of the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9780, Research In Motion's (RIM) newest addition to the BlackBerry Bold series of smartphones.
Today's announcement is in keeping with the rising new unlimited wireless carrier's reputation of providing Canadian consumers with a quality wireless experience featuring the latest handsets and smartphones and a state-of-the-art 3.5G network - without contracts, credit checks or outrageous monthly bills containing extra fees and surprise charges, as is commonly the case with Canada's incumbent carriers.
The first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry® 6 operating system, the new device retains the familiar and trusted features that distinguish the BlackBerry brand while delivering a fresh, approachable and engaging experience that is powerful and easy to use.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 delivers a wide range of enhancements including a rich new user interface, a fast and powerful WebKit-based browser, broadly improved communications and multimedia capabilities, an incredibly useful Universal Search feature and a high-quality 5MP camera.
Users will enjoy expanded messaging capabilities with intuitive features to simplify the management of social networking and RSS feeds (Social Feeds), and integrated access to BBM™ (BlackBerry® Messenger), Facebook®, Twitter™, MySpace™ and various instant messaging applications.
The new device includes GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging, 512 MB Flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage. It also ships with a 2 GB micro SD™ memory card.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 will be available soon for $499.99 at Mobilicity stores across Canada. It joins the BlackBerry® Curve™ 3G ($299.99), Motorola Spice™ ($199.99), Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 ($499.99) and Nexus One™ by Google™ ($549.99) in Mobilicity's growing smartphone lineup.
