Support for Those Impacted by the British Columbia Wildfires

For the first time in 14 years, British Columbia is in a provincial state of emergency for wildfires. Over 14,000 people have been displaced from their homes throughout the Cariboo and Interior regions of 100 Mile House, Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Princeton and Williams Lake. The wildfires have grown to be over 24,400 hectares and are still burning.
Rogers has waived all domestic voice, text and data overages until July 21st for customers from evacuated areas of the province. They are also donating $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross towards the fire relief fund.
TELUS has also waived overage fees for impacted postpaid customers, and has reached out to those affected with further information. Prepaid customers will receive a $15 bill credit, and FFH customers will have their billing suspended and/or charges waived. They will match all customer donations up to $25,000.

How to help?

Both Rogers and TELUS customers looking for ways to help can donate to the Canadian Red Cross by texting FIRES to 45678 to donate $10 that will go toward the provincial fundraising appeal.
Donations will help provide immediate relief such as cots, blankets, and family reunification, as well as assistance with food, clothing, and personal effects. Donations may also help with long-term recovery, resiliency, and future-preparedness.
