Samsung Galaxy Note8 Preorders are On

August 23, 2017 by
Today is the day that Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note8, and it was worth the wait! To right the wrongs of the exploding Galaxy Note7 from last year, Samsung is offering up to $425 to Note7 customers who trade in their current smartphone for the Note8.
The Note8 rocks an iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and wireless charging capabilities - just to name a few features. The North American version comes with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage space, expandable up to 256 GB with a microSD card.
Canadians get to choose from Midnight Black or Deepsea Blue, and those of you in the US get the option of Midnight Black or Orchid Grey. There are also Silver and Maple Gold finishes currently available elsewhere in the world, but no word yet on if or when they will be headed to Canada.
A new Gear VR headset with controller will also be launched on September 15th, along with the Note8. The newest model of the Gear VR will be compatible with the Note8, Galaxy S8 and S8+, S7 and S7 edge, S6, S6+ and S6 edge, as well as the Galaxy Note5. The headset will be priced around $199.99 CAD and will be available at most major Canadian carriers and electronics stores.

Key Features:

  • Infinity Display - More screen means more space to do great things. The Galaxy Note8 has a near bezel-less, full-frontal glass, edge-to-edge QHD+ Super AMOLED screen. Measured diagonally, the screen size is 6.3" in the full rectangle and 6.2" with accounting for the rounded corners. You'll get more screen for an immersive viewing experience and more space to use the Intelligent S Pen.
  • Intelligent S Pen Stylus - Easily communicate the way you want. The Galaxy Note8's S Pen has a 0.7mm tip that is fine and precise like your favourite pen. Draw and write with accuracy and create fine or broad strokes. Write handwritten messages on photos, create your own GIFs, or simply take notes.
  • Dual Camera with Dual OIS - Capture memories just as they happen. Take crisp and clear shots with the Galaxy Note8 dual camera. Its telephoto camera has 2x optical zoom to let you zoom in clearly. Both cameras have optical image stabilization (OIS) to produce photos that come out beautifully even with camera shake.
  • IP68 Water and Dust Resistance - Feel free to go places or get caught in the rain. Galaxy Note8 and S Pen are rated IP68, meaning they are both better protected against dust ingress and are water resistant. Water resistance rating is based on test conditions of submersion in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minute.
