Changes to Public Mobile Legacy/Pioneer Rate Plans

Customers who joined Public Mobile before January 27, 2015 have what is known is a Legacy or Pioneer type rate plan. Pioneer customers are the only Public Mobile subscribers that have access to a 1-855-4PUBLIC call center for support, while more recent customers access support through an online forum.

Since the number of active Legacy/Pioneer accounts is slowly dwindling, the costs of maintaining call service support are increasing. In light of this, on February 15th Public Mobile is raising the price of all Legacy/Pioneer rate plans. These plans include:
  • $22 Province-Wide Talk
  • $28 Canada-Wide Talk + Text
  • $43 Canada-Wide Talk + Text + 1GB Data
  • $48 Canadian & U.S. Talk + Text + 1GB Data
  • $63 Canadian & U.S. Talk + Text + 2GB Data
Customers with any other rate plans will not be impacted by this price increase. To learn more about the specifics of this change visit

If any Pioneer customers are unhappy with this change, they can switch to PM's TELUS-owned sister company Koodo and get a similar rate plan there for the same price. This offer runs from January 10th until February 9th, 2018.
