Almost exactly one year after the launch of the 2017 9.7" iPad, Apple is back with another 9.7-inch iPad for 2018. The 2018 model is almost identical to 2017's, with just a few differences.
The 2018 iPad has Apple's newest operating system; iOS 11. It is packed with Apple's A10 Fusion chip with 64-bit architecture, and an embeddded M10 coprocessor - an upgrade from last years' A9 chip and M9 coprocessor. The most notable different this year however is the addition of Apple Pencil support. Apple Pencil compatibility was normally reserved for the higher-end iPad Pro until now. The newest iPad costs slightly less than last year's model, staring at $429 CAD (for the 32GB Wi-Fi version) and up to $719 CAD (for the 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular connectivity model) at the Apple store.
