Rogers ZTE MF28B Wireless modem

This unit provides adequate connectivity (2 bars out of 5 on a WinXP PC approx. 3 km. from the nearest tower) but a feeble wireless signal that connects (2 bars) to a Win 7 laptop 20 feet distant (another floor of the house) and cannot reach a WinXP desktop 40 feet distant. The previous Rogers NetComm modem (for which this is a replacement) showed 4 or 5 bars signal strength and interconnected all three PCs in the house.
Secondly, Rogers documentation for this unit is inadequate. Rogers provides only the 8-page User Guide which on the last page refers users to the User Manual -- which does not exist. Basic setup instructions are not provided (in the way Rogers provided them for the Netcomm device.)
This equipment meets basic needs, but performs less well than similarly priced competitors with many more features.
