Sony Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra were both announced last February at Mobile World Congress 2017. The XA1 made its way to Videotron in May, and the XA1 Ultra eventually found its way to Freedom Mobile and Videotron in July after quite a long delay.
This year, Sony unveiled the newest members of the XA lineup at CES 2018. Both are expected to launch during this year's Mobile World Congress, which starts on February 26th. Though there are also rumors of a February 18th launch in the US. Shoppers in the US and Canada can already place pre-orders through BestBuy. Hopefully both will also be available for purchased on Sony's Canadian website next month, or through some Canadian carriers without a long delay this year.
This year's models are mirror images of what we have seen from Sony Xperia's line before. However there is a new rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a new strong metal design. Thanks Sony!
At CES, Sony also announced the Xperia L2, however, this model does not currently appear on Sony Canada's website so it is unclear if it will be available to Canadians or not. We will be sure to share any updates on the L2 if they become available.
